What is Persistent Genital Arousal Disorder?

Persistent Genital Arousal Disorder is a condition whereby the sufferer experiences unpredictable, overwhelming and powerful orgasms or feelings of sexual arousal that are totally uncontrollable. The frequent recurrence of these sensations can actually become quite painful and, as you’ll see in this video, sufferers are brought to their knees as their bodies are wracked by painful, intense orgasms. It’s difficult for most of us to truly appreciate just what a terrible disorder this is. Orgasms and sexual arousal typically hold very positive associations for us. But, imagine being at the mercy of your genitals all day every day. In this video, the interviewees with PGAD explain how their lives have had to change as a consequence of being constantly sexually aroused and in a state of orgasm. Ironically, normal intercourse with a partner is painful and going out in public is just a terrible embarrassment.

Treatment for PGAD is in its infancy, but is showing a promising start.
