The Story

With 10 years as a copywriter and content manager under her belt, Wander Woman Thea decided to pursue her extreme, borderline obsessive passion for travel and struck out into the realm of travel writing. Boldly taking on multi-course meals and ambitious wine tastings at some of Cape Town’s finest establishments; waking up at sparrow fart to embark upon hours-long walks through the African veldt; enduring long haul flights, grumpy air hostesses, and constipation-inducing airline food; and achieving happiness and serenity in her ongoing travels around the world, this is Wander Woman Thea’s tell-all.

Based in Cape Town, South Africa, Thea enjoys a job as a freelance writer for a beautiful lifestyle, leisure, food, travel, and wine magazine called Southern Vines. Through this, she explores the Cape and its numerous wine lands, game reserves, restaurants, and art galleries in pursuit of the best places to eat, drink, stay, and become inspired. With family in Seattle USA and Vancouver Canada, Thea frequently travels to North America and, with her fatal travel bug affliction, to other parts of the world as well.

“Travel shouldn’t be seen as a luxury. It’s a necessity – as necessary as an education,” says Wander Woman Thea. “It’s the single greatest source of information you’ll ever tap into, not only about the world beyond your borders, but also about yourself.

“People who travel tend to be wisely humble, because they have seen how big the world is and how utterly beautiful it can be, but also how brutal and impoverished parts of it are. They have seen how the other half live and that your own problems and gripes are insignificant in comparison to the vastness, diversity, poverty, and greatness of our gorgeous blue planet.”

And now… the moment you’ve all been waiting for….
